Hyphae of Kindness

Artist Angela Kumar invites people to perform simple acts of kindness directed toward both humans and non-human life forms, and to transform these actions into written contributions that become part of the artwork Hyphae of Kindness. Inspired by mycelium — the underground network of fungal threads that supports the health of trees — the installation demonstrates how kindness can also contribute to human wellbeing, with research pointing to positive effects on both body and mind. These written contributions function as connections between the mycelial nodes, transforming the space into a living symbol of interconnectedness, in which kindness grows and spreads like roots beneath the earth.
